7:40 AM YWahhh.. Im just trying my luck when i post this. I think China has placed a ban on blogspot so guess what.. i cant even go to my own blog.. haha..
But then to let this blog rot for 3 yrs is certainly not the best idea.. Thus, i think i should try my luck so if some kind soul from singapore can see this post, please let me know okay??? (of course you dont need to call me to tell me.. over msn is fine.. haha)
Well.. Shanghai.. Its cold. Not very VERY cold but still, cold enough for me to get numb fingers which really scared me. I can actually bite my fingers and not feel any pain at all after that. Last friday and saturday, it was raining as well, so its like double my misery.
Okay.
My house.
Its really really nice. It is like sooooo HUGE in comparison to my house in singapore. So much larger. And cooler. But then, a large house would mean more surface area to clean up. The last time i swept and mobbed the floor, i felt seriously tired after that. But as nice as my house look like, it does not feel like a home. It feels like a hotel only. At least, thats how it feels like for now.
Many of you has asked me how my house looks like but until now, only Aik Kun is lucky enough to have seen my house. (well, we video called each other so she got to see my house) I think if its possible, i will post some pictures of my house. It has 2 floors and in addition, there is a basement as well. Really quite cool. And im staying at some place named Shimao Lakeside Garden and as the name suggests, there is a lake around the entire estate. When i walk out to the largest balcony in my house (my house has 4 of them!!), there is a lake outside surrounding my house. NIce ehh.. haha.. The entire estate is seriously really cool. Very expensive and high class looking.
Well, as far as im concerned, the only nice thing in Shanghai for me is my house. Really.
The Food..
Is both OILY AND SALTY!!!! how to eat something dripping in oil and when you eat it, it seems as if you are eating salt??? ewwwwwww...!!!! i really miss the good food that we have in spore.. omg.. just thinking about it makes my mouth water.. wonder when i will get to taste such good food again.
My School..
Is a horror.
The people in there are really.. different. Their lifestyles and everything is very different from the life that im used to having in singapore. The things they talk about is like.. erm.. ya...
They all have this american accent. Even the asians. Well, to be fair, there is nothing wrong with that just that sometimes i dont understand what is being said then i feel too paiseh to say 'huh?' to them. And there is a limit to how many times you say "Sorry, but can you repeat what you have just said??" So most of the time, i will stare really hard at them when i dont catch what they are asking me, wiling them to be able to read my mind and repeat what they have just said. haha.. i sound like a weirdo dont i??
The lessons here are also carried out in a very different manner. Students actually have debates with the teacher in every lesson. Any time they have any problems, they immediately shout out their questions. IM really not used to this. I mean, its just so different from the classroom situation in spore. That time during english lesson, the class spent 20 mins debating with the teacher over one point. haha.. thats the way it is over here.
And, it is really very hard for me to make friends. True, my level has only 30 students but then, we have no fixed class. Every lesson will have different people studying with me. Sad eh.. my econs lesson has only 2 girls including me and my english lesson has only 3 girls, also including me,
The stucture of the building is really confusing. How many times have i got lost in the school compound?? Countless times. haha.. Thanks to my good sense of direction, (yes.. im praising myself but its true..), I now can safely get to my next lesson within the required time.
Oh. And i have a new laptop. Well, it is compulsory for those in years 9, 10 and 12. So now i have to bring a laptop to every class. Of course its fun. When im bored, i can actually email some of you. Actually, many of them emails are sent during my school hours. haha..
Oh!!!! There is this component in the IB which im taking now called TOK or theory of knowledge. THE QUESTIONS ASKED IN THIS SUBJECT IS IDENTICAL TO KI QUESTIONS!!!! My first assignment:
"If you cant say it, you dont know it." "I know more than i can say."
Comment on which one you find is true and give examples.. blah blah blah. Write an essay of more than 1000 words.
Great ah. How am i ever suppose to do it??? Im clueless!!! HOw to even start!!! Someone come and safe me can???
And my econs, i was taking H1 econs in the past and now?? Im stuck in a higher level econs class (this means that it is H2 level) HELLO??? I CANT UNDERSTAND THE LESSON OKAY???
Okay. Enough of complaining.
My school caters for students from age 3 to 18. haha.. I think all international schools are like that. But the younger kids study in the DUCKS school (nursery school and kindergarden) and the junior school (for the primary school students).
wow.. i have really said a lot. The last thing i want to say is: THANK GOD ITS FRIDAY!!!
I really dread schoool. The entire week has been like, homework, homework and more homework. Never ending. Its suppose to be my holidays right?? So why am i doing homework everyday?? Not fair..
Okay. Im in my school bus now. And its shaking terribly thanks to those juniors who are monkey-ing around. Lets just see if any of you can read this..
